IELTS English Tutoring

What is IELTS?

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS), is designed to measure the language proficiency of people who want to study or work where English is used as a language of communication.

Who is it for?

IELTS is recognized by universities and employers in many countries, including Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK, and the USA. It is also recognized by professional bodies, immigration authorities, and other government agencies.

There are two versions of IELTS tests:

  • Academic: For people applying for higher education or professional registration

  • General Training: For those migrating to Australia, Canada, and the UK, or applying for secondary education, training programs, and work experience in an English-speaking environment.

Both versions of the IELTS tests provide a valid and accurate assessment of the four language skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking.

IELTS is required for entry to university in the UK and other countries.

How is it assessed?

The IELTS Academic and General Training test results are reported using the same nine-band scale. You get an Overall Band Score, and band scores for each of the four components: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking
